Zero Gravity Marketing has risen above the competition to become a top digital marketing firm in Connecticut, and we credit it to our unique, diverse team. We appreciate every player, and we know that without him or her, we wouldn’t be the successful marketing firm we are today.
With this in mind, we have launched an Employee Spotlight initiative. Our hope is that, as you learn more about each of the talented individuals at our marketing firm, you will gain further insight into why we are so great together.
Today, we are thrilled to introduce Katy Gioeli, Content Coordinator. We have asked her a few questions to provide an insider’s look as to what makes Katy tick. Enjoy!
Katy Gioeli, Content Coordinator
Where are you from?
I was born in California and lived there until I was 12. Since then, I’ve called Madison, CT home.
How did you choose this career path?
I stumbled upon the Communication field while doing college research in high school and immediately fell in love. After graduating from college, I knew that I wanted a job that was fast-paced and allowed me to be creative. When I found ZGM, I knew that it would be a great fit.
What do you like most about your job?
I love that I’m able to spend my day doing my two favorite things – writing and learning. Having so many clients in various fields allows me to learn something new every day while I’m creating content; it makes every day exciting.
What is your favorite part of being a member of the ZGM team?
My favorite part of being a member of the ZGM team is working with so many great people. The ZGM team is truly dedicated to their work, and everyone is extremely supportive of one another – it’s like a big family!
What is the strangest job you’ve ever had?
I was a camp counselor for four summers in a row. The job itself wasn’t necessarily strange, but I definitely have some good stories to tell.
What is your favorite quote?
“I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.” – Sarah Williams
Do you have any pets?
I have two rescue dogs, Hobo and Alice. I love nothing more than to show them off to people.
Name one thing on your bucket list.
I’ve always wanted to see the Northern Lights. I’m Swedish and Norwegian, so to see them in either of those countries would be a dream come true.
What would you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?
So far, my biggest accomplishment is graduating from college with honors. Now that it’s over, it’s crazy to look back on how much work it took to get there.
Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
I love reading, photography, traveling, and simply being outside. I’m also a big fan of trying out new restaurants and cuisines. My most recent discovery is Peruvian and Bolivian food – it’s incredible!
What’s your favorite food? Least favorite food?
My favorite food is definitely pasta, I never get sick of it. I’m not a fan of green beans – no matter how many times I try them, they never taste good to me.
My dad is a professional musician, so I’ve grown up living and breathing music – which makes this question pretty difficult. A few musicians that I never get tired of listening to, are Queen, Ed Sheeran, and my dad (I promise I’m not biased).
You’re about to perform in a karaoke bar. What song do you pick?
Any song off of the Mamma Mia soundtrack. I do a mean “Super Trouper” cover.
If you could live in a TV show, book, or movie, which one would you pick?
Harry Potter – casting spells, riding on brooms, and listening to British accents all day sounds like my cup of tea.
