Zero Gravity Marketing has risen above the competition to become a top digital marketing firm in Connecticut, and we credit it to our unique, diverse team. We appreciate every player, and we know that without him or her, we wouldn’t be the successful marketing firm we are today.

With this in mind, we have launched an Employee Spotlight initiative. Our hope is that, as you learn more about each of the talented individuals at our marketing firm, you will gain further insight into why we are so great together.

Today, we are thrilled to introduce Meghan Harris, Director of Account Services. We have asked her a few questions to provide an insider’s look as to what makes Meghan tick. Enjoy!

Meghan Harris, Director of Account Services

Where are you from?

My roots are in NH and my entire family resides there today. I grew up raising animals, heavily involved in 4-H, youth group, and competitive dance. I moved to CT after college and have been in the Madison, CT area for almost two years.

How did you choose this career path?
I was working in market research in a panel engagement role where I was working on marketing efforts to promote sign-ups for survey panelists. Within that role, I had the ability to come up with the marketing strategy, develop the creative concepts, and run through the tactics to execution. I loved the momentum I felt, the visibility the tactics had to the consumer, and felt just very energized and motivated by my role. I actually was not looking to switch careers, but Michela reached out to me one day and said, “Hey I think you would be great at this” and brought me in for an interview at my first agency. It’s kind of a laughing joke because I came to my interview in a three-piece pantsuit and had an entire PPT presentation to show my boss at that time. #nerd
What do you like most about your job?
I love how energized I feel for the projects and accounts I work on. I thrive on how quickly my projects move and love the challenge of managing multiple deliverables at once. I find a lot of satisfaction in organization / running projects and teams efficiently. I love to be heavily involved in every facet of my projects so that I can truly own the account and contribute to the success. Recently I have become more involved with the eComm accounts for our agency. This transition has been an exciting change in my role at ZGM. I love working towards “actual” goals (based on products vs. lead) set by clients and achieving them as a team.  The momentum and collaboration felt among my teams is AMAZING, and exciting. This change has challenged me to grow more professionally in my career and I have learned a new skill set and built my confidence to manage even larger accounts than I had in the past.

What is your favorite part of being a member of the ZGM team?
Collaboration with really smart people. I love that we are all nerds, and all operate at 150%. We all have very high expectations for ourselves, have the same dedication to our job/agency, and love seeing ourselves and others succeed.
What is the strangest job you’ve ever had?
I have had multiple jobs but not really strange.
  1. Dance Teacher
  2. Visual Manager at Abercrombie
  3. Product Merchandiser at CSN Stores
What is your favorite quote?
I love mantras and motivational quotes. It’s difficult to pick one because I find that quotes are relevant depending on where you are at that time in your life. A few of my favorites are “Though she be but little she is fierce” -Shakespeare

“She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She was beautiful, for the way she thought. She was beautiful for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful, for her ability to make other people smile, even if she was sad. No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down to her soul. She is beautiful.” -F Scott Fitzgerald
Do you have any pets?
A little beta “Bubbles.” Santa brought him to Grant last year and somehow it’s still alive. This was supposed to be Grant’s first responsibility, but I am the one that feeds it and changes its water! I hope to surprise Grant with a puppy sometime soon.
Name one thing on your bucket list.
I would love to see myself create something of my own, capitalizing on my creativity and life experiences (professionally and personally). More to Come!
What would you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?
Being a mom will forever be my greatest accomplishment. Grant has forever changed my life and continues to do so every day.

Do you have any hobbies/ Passions outside of work?
I love spending time with my little man! He is my mini/sidekick through life.
Exercise has always been a big part of my life and a great outlet for me. I enjoy running and have recently become very passionate about yoga for not only the physical effects physically but the mental ones as well.

What’s your favorite food? Least favorite food?
I love cooking. It’s another creative outlet for me. I hate going out to dinner and getting a meal that I know I have cooked better at home. I love exploring and trying new recipes and sharing that with family and friends. With that said I could probably eat tacos and chips & salsa every day of the week.

Pick three words to describe yourself.
Driven, Energetic, Empathetic

Favorite musician?
Similar to quotes I have a passion for music as well. Depending on where you are in life, music has a way of relating to that across genres. I love lyrics and a good beat!
If you were a Crayola Crayon, what color would you be?
I tend to always pick up the pretty colors when I am coloring with Grant. Magento sticks out the most!
If you could live in a TV show, book, or movie, which one would you pick?
I embarrassingly love self-help, inspiration, and motivational books. It’s helpful. I like reading about other people’s experiences and journeys to help provide some possible context and insight to relatable events in my life, where I may like to go, or things I’d like to achieve.
