Elizabeth Rule

SEO/SEM Specialist
Elizabeth Rule

Elizabeth received her Bachelors in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College in Boston. She got into digital marketing by doing content marketing for different health care organizations across the country, and then quickly moved into the realm of full Search Engine Marketing including SEO and PPC with her previous company. She thinks the most rewarding thing about SEM is writing content for clients and seeing it rank highly on search engines.

Elizabeth is an avid animal and music lover, as well as a self-proclaimed “foodie”. Her goal is to one day own a multi-acre sanctuary farm for rescue animals of all types, and to host frequent music and BBQ nights in the barn. She also loves to write short stories and song lyrics/poetry.

Where are you from?
New Haven, CT

How did you choose this career path?
I got into digital marketing right out of college, doing mostly content marketing for health care organizations across the country. I then moved into an agency position to do SEM marketing for home improvement contractors. I’m excited to continue to hone my SEO and PPC skills for a variety of clients across industries here at ZGM.

What do you like most about your job?
I love learning about new industries and companies I might not have known anything about before. I also love seeing my content rank highly on search engines.

What is your favorite part of being a member of the ZGM team?
The feeling of community and encouragement. Everyone is so ready to help out when they can, and the collaboration that goes on behind the scene between different departments is open, allowing us to really spread our wings and come up with creative ideas.

What is the strangest job you’ve ever had?
Assistant on a farm where I got to help deliver baby horses and cows. It was a really great experience, and very messy!

What is your favorite quote?
“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.” – JRR Tolkien

Do you have any pets?
A thoroughbred horse named Ever So Grand aka “Ever”

Name one thing on your bucket list.
Gallop an Arabian horse across a desert.

What would you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?
I train dogs and seeing the look on a dog’s face when they finally understand exactly what I am asking them to do is so rewarding!

Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
Reading, hiking, horseback riding, snowboarding, writing, and listening to music.

What’s your favorite food? Least favorite food?
Favorite would have to be Modern Apizza in New Haven. I don’t think I have a least favorite food, but if I have to pick I guess it would be mushrooms.

Pick three words to describe yourself.
Outgoing, passionate, and adventurous.

Favorite musician?
SO HARD. Let’s go with the top 3 of three different genres:
Snarky Puppy
The Grateful Dead
The Notorious BIG

If you were a Crayola Crayon, what would you be?

You’re about to perform in a karaoke bar. What song do you pick?
“Atlantic City” by The Band

If you could live in a TV show, book, or movie, which one would you pick?
Lord of The Rings (I would be an elf)

If you could hang out with anyone for a day, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
J.R.R Tolkien. He was a master of poetry and epic novels, two very different but equally elusive styles of writing. I would love the opportunity to pick his brain, plus I have tons of questions about his novels only he can answer!
