Zero Gravity Marketing has risen above the competition to become a top digital marketing firm in Connecticut, and we credit it to our unique, diverse team. We appreciate every player, and we know that without him or her, we wouldn’t be the successful marketing firm we are today.

With this in mind, we have launched an Employee Spotlight initiative. Our hope is that, as you learn more about each of the talented individuals at our marketing firm, you will gain further insight into why we are so great together.

Today, we are thrilled to introduce Uday Rajaram, Director of Paid Media. We have asked him a few questions to provide an insider’s look as to what makes Uday tick. Enjoy!

Uday Rajaram, Director of Paid Media

Where are you from?

Born in Thanjavur, India, grew up in Milford, CT.

How did you choose this career path?

During college, I worked as a full-time developer, but did not find it rewarding; I got to build all these great tools and functionalities, but never saw a user get to use them. Digital marketing was a natural pivot at that point, as I saw the changes I made to a website influence a user’s behavior. I was hooked.

What do you like most about your job?

Helping businesses grow. Being able to see the vision of a start-up and help them grow into a million dollar business is very rewarding.

What is your favorite part of being a member of the ZGM team?

Intelligence and atmosphere. Most companies only have one or the other, but ZGM has an abundance of both.

What is the strangest job you’ve ever had?

During my sophomore year at UCONN, I showed up to what I thought was a job interview for a temp door to door salesman. It ended up being an interview for a mourner. A mourner goes to funerals where there are a small list of people expected to attend. I sometimes had to give eulogies on the fly, which was sad and enlightening at the same time.

What is your favorite quote?

Quality is not an act, it is a habit.

Do you have any pets?

A 5 year old mutt. Pepper. Shar-Pei Lab mix.

Name one thing on your bucket list.

See a tornado.

What would you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?

I was part of the team of 30 that took a million dollar server company into a billion dollar industry leader.

Do you have any hobbies outside of work?

I like running weird 5Ks (Zombie run, Brains & Brawn run, Rugged Maniac, any mud runs).

What’s your favorite food? Least favorite food?

I love pies with any fruit/ nuts in them (Apple pie, pecan pie, etc.). My least favorite food is turkey.

Pick three words to describe yourself.

This question came straight out of OkCupid. Am I filling out a dating profile? I’ll give you 4 words: Adaptable, Analytical, Comedic Genius.

Favorite musician?

John Mayer.

If you were a Crayola crayon, what color would you be?

#80FFF2

You’re about to perform in a karaoke bar. What song do you pick?

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody.

If you could live in a TV show, book, or movie, which one would you pick?

Back To The Future.

If you could hang out with anyone for a day, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

Elon Musk; I need a few seats on that spaceship to Mars.
