Employee Spotlight – Adriana Lucatino – Director of Strategy

Zero Gravity Marketing has risen above the competition to become a top digital marketing firm in Connecticut, and we credit it to our unique, diverse team. We appreciate every player, and we know that without him or her, we wouldn’t be the successful marketing firm we are today.

With this in mind, we have launched an Employee Spotlight initiative. Our hope is that, as you learn more about each of the talented individuals at our marketing firm, you will gain further insight into why we are so great together.

Today, we are thrilled to introduce Adriana Cali, Social Media Strategist & Digital Marketing Strategist. We have asked her a few questions to provide an insider’s look as to what makes Adriana tick. Enjoy!

Adriana Cali, Social Media Strategist & Digital Marketing Strategist

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in East Boston, Massachusetts. I moved to Derry, New Hampshire for a few years, and now I reside in East Haven, Connecticut.

How did you choose this career path?

Part of me has always been attracted to marketing and advertising for the creative freedom. During my freshman year of college, I was a member of the university’s event planning board and was given the task of spreading the word around campus for an upcoming spring concert. Learning about all of the ways to tap into students and increasing awareness was fun for me – it became a challenge. After that experience, I was very aware that this was the path I wanted to go down and quickly declared my major to Marketing.

What do you like most about your job?

There’s two clear reasons why I love my role. The first is that there are no restrictions to my recommendations or ideas. My creativity and thought process is the limit to what I can do. The second reason is the challenging aspect and determining what is going to work best and what is going to make my client happy. It’s rewarding to come up with a concept that is well received by both the client and the audience.

What is your favorite part of being a member of the ZGM team?

The vibe the team brings to the table is unlike any other company I have worked for. Everyone has a unique personality and a great work ethic, which makes every project even more fun.

What is the strangest job you’ve ever had?

It’s not the strangest job, but I worked in a bakery for a couple of years and was the morning lead baker. I’d arrive at work at 4AM every day and would prep, fly and decorate our donuts and prep & bake the muffins for the day. I’ve also held jobs as an amusement park ride operator and flying trapeze instructor.

What is your favorite quote?

“Great things never came from comfort zones.”

Do you have any pets?

My white mosaic chinchilla, Snowball, is my furchild. She’s spoiled, but worth every penny.

Name one thing on your bucket list.

Watching all of the movies that I have never seen. It’s a running joke with my friends of how many classic and wildy popular movies I have never watched, so it’s on my to-do list now.

What would you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?

I don’t believe in having a single greatest accomplishment. Definitely an unpopular opinion, but I never want to say that there’s been a peak moment. There’s always going to be something greater that I can strive for, and that is the mindset I’ve always held in terms of my career.

Do you have any hobbies outside of work?

Training on flying trapeze and trampoline was a big hobby, until an injury to my hand derailed my progress for a while, but I’m slowly working my way back!

What’s your favorite food? Least favorite food?

Forever obsessed with buffalo chicken and macarons.

Pick three words to describe yourself.

Passionate. Genuine. Crafty.

Favorite musician?

John Mayer all day, everyday.

If you were a Crayola crayon, what color would you be?

Illuminating Emerald.

If you could live in a TV show, book, or movie, which one would you pick?

Friends.

If you could hang out with anyone for a day, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

Ellen DeGeneres. Her genuine care, compassion and willingness to help people and animals is truly admirable. Plus, she makes me laugh. Who wouldn’t want to hang with Ellen?
