Employee Spotlight – Liza Adelberg, Manager of Social Media

Zero Gravity Marketing has risen above the competition to become a top digital marketing firm in Connecticut, and we credit it to our unique, diverse team. We appreciate every player, and we know that without him or her, we wouldn’t be the successful marketing firm we are today.

With this in mind, we have launched an Employee Spotlight initiative. Our hope is that, as you learn more about each of the talented individuals at our marketing firm, you will gain further insight into why we are so great together.

Today, we are thrilled to introduce Liza Adelberg, Manager of Social Media. We have asked her a few questions to provide an insider’s look as to what makes Liza tick. Enjoy!

Liza Adelberg, Manager of Social Media

Where are you from?

Born in RI, raised in CT but I have also lived in California, South Carolina, Massachusetts & Manchester, England.

How did you choose this career path?

I went to school for psychology but I was sold on the idea of helping to solve business problems instead of people’s problems. Plus, my Dad has been in advertising & marketing his entire career. My mom for the majority of hers, as well. It was in my blood.

What do you like most about your job?

I like using my social media powers for good. I like learning about different types of businesses and creating an online personality for them.

What is your favorite part of being a member of the ZGM team?

It’s awesome to have a one stop shop for all Digital Marketing needs. Social media is a piece of a much larger puzzle and being able to work with experts in each department helps to build a truly awesome campaign. I also like that I have an outlet to make my Greek Frappes on the regular.

What is the strangest job you’ve ever had?

I delivered tires to auto repair places for a summer.

What is your favorite quote?

‘Do a loony-goony dance ‘Cross the kitchen floor, Put something silly in the world That ain’t been there before.’ – Shel Silverstein

Do you have any pets?

No pets but I’d love to rescue a puppy one day.

Name one thing on your bucket list.

It was to dance on stage with Prince but that is no longer an option 🙁

What would you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?

Starting to work at Zero Gravity Marketing after working with my parents for 16 years. Learning all of the latest & greatest technology when I had been working with people 60+!

Do you have any hobbies outside of work?

I love 1970’s fashion & interior design. I am a foodie and enjoy cooking different ethnic cuisines. I grow a vegetable & flower garden every year and make things with what I grow, including a pesto with 5 varieties of basil. I definitely have a green thumb and have a lot of luck with succulents. I do zumba 3x / week and love to dance!

What’s your favorite food? Least favorite food?

I adore all food except for green bell peppers. I love them but they don’t love me anymore.

Pick three words to describe yourself.

Sassy, classy, and a little smart assy.

Favorite musician?

Erykah Badu.

If you were a Crayola crayon, what color would you be?

Gold Glitter.

You’re about to perform in a karaoke bar. What song do you pick?

Free your Mind by En Vogue / If I am very intoxicated – Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N Roses / Duet – Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers.

If you could live in a TV show, book, or movie, which one would you pick?

I would be friends with Big Bud (Eric) & Little Bud (Aziz) in the TV show Master of None. I think I would enjoy living in the sets of Wes Anderson’s films but not engaging with his dysfunctional characters.

If you could hang out with anyone for a day, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

I would spend 1/2 the day with my Grandpa (on my mother’s side). He passed when I was only 1 years old and I have been told that he was a tremendous human being. I would spend the other 1/2 with my Great Aunt Betty Spaghetti who was like a grandma to me and gave me my gypsy spirit. She sold knock-off handbags & designer jewelry in a nail salon in Long Island. She was a character & a 1/2 and I channel her spirit every day!
